An Interview with Rachel:
Where did you and your fiancé meet?
“We met while we were both working out. He was a new member at the gym Invictus Fitness DC, our CrossFit gym in Washington, D.C.”
Tell us a little bit about your love story.
“We first crossed paths at Invictus DC, our CrossFit gym. From the start, we noticed each other, but timing wasn’t exactly on our side. I was planning a move to Hawaii to embrace my “single era,” and Dante had plans to head to Kazakhstan for training. That didn’t stop Dante from making his crush known (through a mutual friend, of course). Confident I was never wrong, I shut it down right away. Big mistake. Huge. But from that moment, something unexpected happened. A genuine friendship began. We bonded over work, realizing we had a lot in common through our jobs in government. That foundation of friendship set the stage for something more. Patient (and persistent), Dante tried again. He started hanging around the gym all day, even taking my class, and joined me for brunch with a group of friends. I tried to ignore him during brunch, but Dante wasn’t deterred. Afterward, he asked what I was doing. I mentioned walking Max, and Dante quickly replied, “Can I join?” That simple question turned into hours of wandering Navy Yard together, talking about everything under the sun. The walk flowed into a late dinner, and by the end of the night, we both knew something was different. From there, the story wrote itself: patience, persistence, friendship, and the realization that timing doesn’t always have to be perfect. It just has to be ours.”
Where and when did Dante propose?
“June 22nd. We went out to dinner at the place where we had our first date because Dante wanted to use our free guacamole coupon that we actually got on our first date. He was being weird and picking little fights with me, and when we went outside to walk by the water in Georgetown, he proposed. I was absolutely shocked.”
Where are you getting married?
“The Copper Rose Ranch in Livingston, MT”
Where did he buy your ring?
“Do Amore. It’s simple and classic. My ring is wonderful. But he is even better, I am truly so thankful that this man found me.”
